  • Maiquetía, Caracas, Venezuela, Show on map
  • #TRA #Latin America
  • The international terminal was finished 1979, the domestic terminal in 1982, and the office building in 1983. Through an expansion in 2007, the International Terminal lost it's brutalist aspects partially, so all structures in metal, painted white, belong to the expansion. The original building was reutilized.

The first picture shows a banned terrace of the national terminal. On the second picture are the original stariways of the international terminal. On the third, you can see the main hall of the international terminal with the original concrete structure on the roof, and the spectacular floor (Chromointerference of Aditive Color) made by the famous venezuelan artist Carlos Cruz-Diez. The white bridge and the superior hall you see to the left, belong to the expansion. The fourth picture depicts the administrative building, designed by the architect Luis Sully. On picture five, you can see the concrete roof together with the structure of the building. On picture six, you can see the eastern side of the national terminal, recognizable by the stained-glass made by the famous spanish artist Ángel Atienza, which tributes sunrise (on the western side there's another one of his honouring the sunset).
