Brutalist office building with an emphasized top-heaviness in its form.

After developers planned to demolish the Transgas building, the Club for Old Prague has made a proposal to protect it by declaring it a cultural monument. The initiative SOS transgas tried to save the building. However the city council authorized plans for demolition in January 2019. The demolition of the building started in june 2019 (see photo in the gallery) and it is now completely torn down.

This building was included in the red list, published in our exhibition catalog SOS Brutalism: A Global Survey (September 2017). After a status review on November 7, 2024, it was reclassified in the online database from red (endangered) to black (demolished).
