The expressive Torri Zacchiroli are located in Bologna’s first periphery, not far from the city center. They mark the access from the north to the old town. With 100 flats in total (50 flats in each tower), they are mainly devoted to residential uses. The polygonal floor plan of the building is reflected in its fan-like stepped appearance. Every apartment has a balcony, the apartments on the top floors have large terraces. At the time of construction, the Torri Zacchiroli generated a huge controversy with accusations of environmental damage and property speculation. In Zacchiroli’s work, there are several references to Mies van der Rohe, Scharoun, Aalto and Wright.

In use and in good condition. The facades have been painted in grey/light brown some time ago. Therefore the power of the raw concrete surfaces is lost. Special Thanks to Paola Bianco!
