The Adam Smith Building by David Harvey and Alex Scott & Associates served as the central location for the university's business faculties for decades. In December 2023, however, the university opened a new building for the Adam Smith Business School, designed by the architecture firm Hassell.
On Google Maps, it looks as if the brutalist building is currently still being used by the School of Social and Political Sciences. However, the structural condition appears to require maintenance. As the university has demolished several post-war buildings on campus in the past, it is possible that the Brutalist Adam Smith Building will be threatened with demolition sooner or later and is therefore considered to be under threat (last updated on February 20, 2025).
