  • Built between 1963 and 1965 according to the plans of architect Jean-Louis Fayeton, the Church of Sainte Jeanne d'Arc in Verdun marks the culmination of the construction of the Cité Verte, a residential district built between 1957 and 1962. For this project of great sculptural and constructive expressiveness, Fayeton implements bold forms made possible by the common contemporary use of reinforced concrete. The church develops with two levels from an elliptical floor plan. A rough concrete wall forms the outer shell of the building, dominated and flanked by a freestanding spiraled bell tower.

  • In 2015, the church received the label Heritage of the 20th century. Although this measure has no particular legal implications, it nevertheless underlines the value of this church as a building that testifies to an enthusiastic era in the history of sacred architecture in the 1960s in Verdun.

Today, the building seems to have been repurposed for cultural events.
