Kirk, Wallace, McKinley and Associates: McMahon Hall Dormitory, University Of Washington, 1965

  • Seattle, Washington, USA, Show on map
  • #RES #North America
  • At 11 stories, it is the largest housing accommodation on the University of Washington campus. Its exposed internal structure is concrete as well as its facade. Accommodations are cluster style: a typical layout has four double rooms clustered around a shared lounge and bathroom. All clusters have balconies, many with spectacular easterly views of Lake Washington and the Cascade Mountains. The architects were recognized with an AIA Seattle Honor Award in 1966.

  • Currently in use as student housing.
