The construction of the Stadtsparkasse in Wasserburg am Inn was about designing a new building with consideration for the historical surrounding architecture. The result is a scaled, three-story reinforced concrete skeleton building with a flat roof and an asymmetrical floor plan that fits into the street corner. The supporting structure is readable from the façade. The first floor is dominated by large window fronts and reinforced concrete columns, while the floors above are more of a perforated façade with curtain-type, bush-hammered concrete panels. A bend in the ground plan above the entrance area gives an interesting sculptural refraction here.Â
