Hidden within a sleepy, verdant enclave of Rome, this church is encircled by imposing fences and gates. Its exterior boasts a cubic frontage adorned with palm-inspired roof elements, evoking imagery reminiscent of ancient Japanese or South American temple architecture. Upon stepping inside, one is greeted by a stark yet captivating interior, cloaked in shuttered concrete, punctuated by striking azure blue stained glass panels. This juxtaposition creates a mesmerising "technographic" ambiance, marrying elements of antiquity with a futuristic allure. Ortolani's meticulous design flourishes manifest in the deliberate extension and interruption of the room's structure with concrete steps and walls, imparting a sense of depth and mystery while discreetly concealing side entrances and facilitating Eucharistic rituals.Â
